Controlled overhaul sequence
The work package required the team to record alignment, vibration, blade pitch, tip clearance and tip tracking before dismantling. A 25-ton crane was included for removal and reinstallation.
Workshop work covered dismantling and cleaning, liquid-penetrant inspection, replacement of bearings and oil seals, gasket and O-rings, reassembly and test run.
Reinstallation then covered gearbox/drive-shaft alignment, fan setup, vibration measurement and operating test.
The reviewed source set does not contain a verified before-and-after vibration table, so this case study makes no numerical vibration-improvement claim.
