Cooling Tower Drive Shaft and Gearbox Replacement

A July 2026 service report for the Kanchanaburi site documents drive-train work on cooling-tower Cells A and B.

Completed scope

  • replace the gearbox on Cell A;
  • replace drive shafts on Cells A and B;
  • record fan blade angle, tip clearance and tip tracking before work;
  • remove and reinstall drive components;
  • set shaft-end distance and flexible-coupling gap;
  • align gearbox and motor using laser alignment;
  • refill gearbox lubricant;
  • test run both cells; and
  • check gearbox and motor vibration after installation.

The original work order identifies an LRF 450.275SS drive shaft for the two replacement sets.

The service report records alignment and coupling-gap checks as within the specified criteria after installation. Detailed dimensional tables remain in the internal report rather than the public case study.
