Cooling Tower Cleaning and Comparative Performance Test
A service report documents cooling-tower cleaning followed by comparative thermal and airflow tests on Cell A.
Before and after
| Parameter | Before · 10 Aug 2024 | After · 19 Oct 2024 |
|---|---|---|
| Water flow | 171.60 m³/h | 208.70 m³/h |
| Hot water | 31.00°C | 31.00°C |
| Cold water | 29.50°C | 28.10°C |
| Wet bulb | 27.00°C | 25.60°C |
| Cooling effectiveness | 37.50% | 53.70% |
| Airflow | 30.82 m³/s | 32.98 m³/s |
| Fan power | 9.48 kW | 9.48 kW |
The report records an effectiveness increase of 16.2 percentage points after cleaning the fill pack and drift eliminators.
Test limitation
The service report also states that these effectiveness calculations are not a substitute for a full CTI capability assessment. Several measured conditions were outside the recommended ATC-105 variation limits, including water flow, cooling range and fan driver power.
That caveat should remain visible in any public case study: the data demonstrates a comparative change between the two field tests, not certified design capability.
