Cooling Tower Cell D Fill Replacement and Performance Assessment
Synergy Services replaced spray nozzles, fill packs and drift eliminators on the cooling tower Cell D, then compared thermal performance and airflow before and after the work.
The original manufacturer performance curve was unavailable, so the report did not claim a formal rated tower capability. Instead it used cooling-tower effectiveness as a comparative indicator and recorded the different operating conditions between the two tests.
Measured comparison
| Parameter | Before · 17 Feb 2026 | After · 5 Jun 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Water flow | 2,807.60 m³/h | 2,248.00 m³/h |
| Hot water | 32.90°C | 34.00°C |
| Cold water | 26.70°C | 29.29°C |
| Wet bulb | 25.11°C | 28.62°C |
| Cooling effectiveness | 79.58% | 87.55% |
| Airflow | 326.09 m³/s | 337.46 m³/s |
| Fan power | 102.67 kW | 102.67 kW |
The recorded effectiveness increased by 7.97 percentage points (about 10% relative) and airflow increased while fan power remained unchanged.

Important limitation
Water flow, hot-water temperature and ambient wet-bulb conditions were different between tests. The report therefore treats the result as a comparative assessment under the measured conditions, not a strict like-for-like acceptance test.
That limitation is important for credible engineering communication: the project supports a measured improvement under the two test conditions, while a formal design-capability claim would require the manufacturer curve and controlled test conditions.
