Synergy Services has represented Axial Fans Int srl (AFI) in Thailand since 2023, supplying its axial fan range for cooling towers, air-cooled heat exchangers and air-cooled condensers. Founded in 2011, AFI produces axial fan rotors and complete fan units in diameters spanning the company’s full 3–40 ft (914–12,200 mm) range, with fan production, test facilities and operations based in Besnate (VA), Italy, and its service and commercial headquarters in Arona (NO), Italy.
AFI designs around vibration, not efficiency and noise alone: every fan in its smartfans™ range uses a patented blade-to-hub attachment — patented in 2014 as the “smartfan” technology — that makes the blade almost insensitive to the alternating loads air turbulence feeds back into it, because on today’s multi-cell cooling towers vibration — not efficiency — is what takes a fan out of service. AFI has been ISO 9001 certified since 2013.
In 2024, AFI was awarded the supply of 337 fans to improve efficiency at two large LNG plants in the USA.

There is no dedicated low-noise series. Noise reduction is a blade-profile choice available within any series — AFI’s catalogues show, for example, a low-noise blade profile fitted to a D series fan on an air-cooled condenser.
Blade airfoils are aluminium alloy or UV-resistant, antistatic FRP — AFI’s catalogues name aluminium first. Where the FRP blade is used on wet-cooling-tower duty, its leading edge is protected by a maintenance-free stainless-steel sheet. Hubs are aluminium alloy on the SML and STD series, aluminium alloy or electro-galvanised steel on XR and HD, and a hot-dip galvanised steel disc with an epoxy-coated central boss on the D series. Blade attachments are hot-dip galvanised steel alone on SML, and hot-dip galvanised steel with aluminium alloy on STD, XR, HD and D. Fasteners are geomet-protected steel, with stainless steel available on request.
