Cooling Towers in Thailand: New Towers, Parts, Service and Upgrades
Cooling towers in Thailand: Synergy Services designs, builds and installs new towers, supplies parts, services and upgrades existing ones. FRP, concrete and package types.

Synergy Services is a cooling tower company in Thailand. We design and build new cooling towers from components sourced from many suppliers, install them, and look after them for the life of the tower, whether we built it or not.
What we do for cooling towers
- New towers — we supply, build and install new cooling towers: FRP counterflow, FRP crossflow, concrete and package types, with other types on request. See the tower types below.
- Service — inspection and performance testing and overhaul and maintenance for towers already in service.
- Parts — fill, drift eliminators and nozzles, gearboxes, fans and drive shafts, and structure and accessories, with parts replacement to fit them.
- Upgrades — upgrade and reconstruction: retrofits, capacity expansion and structural rebuilds.
Cooling tower types
FRP counterflow cooling towers
Air rises against the falling water and meets the coldest water on the way out, so the fill is used efficiently.
FRP crossflow cooling towers
Air crosses the falling water horizontally, with gravity water distribution and fill you can reach from outside the cell.
Concrete cooling towers
Concrete construction, chosen where decreased fire risk and, for larger structures, higher load-carrying capacity justify its higher first cost.
Package cooling towers
Assembled at the factory and delivered in as few sections as transport allows, so there is less work on site.
Other construction types are available on request. Every tower is sized and quoted per project, from small package towers to large industrial field-erected towers.
All large towers, and many of the smaller ones, are prefabricated, piece-marked and shipped to site for final assembly; factory-assembled towers are built almost completely at the factory and are also known as packaged or unitary towers. The frames of field-erected towers are most commonly pultruded fibreglass, wood or concrete, while factory-assembled towers predominate in steel construction (Cooling Tower Fundamentals, Section I, “Characterization by Construction”, and Section II, “C. Tower Framework”). For how the two airflow layouts compare thermally, see the crossflow vs counterflow chart in Tower Lab.
New cooling towers, from enquiry to handover
- Survey — we survey the site and the plant’s cooling requirement.
- Thermal sizing — flow, hot-water and cold-water temperatures and the design wet-bulb temperature give the duty the tower must meet.
- Design — we choose the tower type and engineer the layout, structure, fill, fans and drives for that duty.
- Build with sourced components — the tower is assembled from fill, drift eliminators, nozzles, fans, gearboxes, drive shafts and structure sourced from many suppliers.
- Install — installation on your site.
- Acceptance test — our team tests the tower following CTI ATC-105 procedures.
- Maintenance contract — optional overhaul and maintenance after handover.
Brands we supply and install
We supply and install new cooling towers under these brands.

THERMAL-CELL
Built by Synergy Services.

BAC
Authorised supplier in Thailand since 2023.
Other brands are available on request.
Components we supply
A tower is only as good as its parts. We supply the components for new towers and for towers in service:
- Fill and drift eliminators — film fill and drift eliminators, with nozzles for water distribution. See static parts and our partner Brentwood.
- Fans, gearboxes and drive shafts — see mechanical parts and our partners AFI, Amarillo Gear Company and Dişsan.
- Structure — FRP structure and accessories. See structure and accessories.
Service across the tower’s life
| Service line | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Inspection and performance testing | Measuring range, approach and airflow to see where a tower is losing capacity. |
| Overhaul and maintenance | Gearbox, drive-shaft and fan overhaul, and preventive maintenance. |
| Parts replacement | Fill, drift eliminator and fan blade replacement. |
| Upgrade and reconstruction | Engineered retrofits and rebuilds, sized from a measured baseline. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you build new cooling towers or only service existing ones?
Both. We design and build new cooling towers from components sourced from many suppliers, and we install them. We also inspect, overhaul, repair, upgrade and supply parts for towers that are already in service. Other tower types are available on request.
What is the difference between a counterflow and a crossflow cooling tower?
In a counterflow tower the air rises against the falling water and meets the coldest water on the way out, so the fill is used more efficiently. In a crossflow tower the air passes horizontally through the falling water: water is distributed by gravity instead of pressurised nozzles, which lowers the pump head, and the fill can be reached from outside the cell, at the price of a larger footprint for the same duty.
How is a cooling tower sized?
From the heat to be rejected and the conditions it must be rejected at: the water flow, the hot-water and cold-water temperatures, and the design wet-bulb temperature of the site. We size and quote each tower per project from those figures, from small package towers to large industrial field-erected towers.
What are approach and range?
Range is the hot-water temperature minus the cold-water temperature. Approach is the cold-water temperature minus the wet-bulb temperature. A smaller approach means the water leaves closer to the wet-bulb limit.
How long does a new cooling tower take?
It depends on the type, the number of cells and the site. A package tower is assembled at the factory and shipped in as few sections as transport allows, while a field-erected tower is assembled on site from prefabricated parts. We give the schedule with the quotation, once the type and scope are agreed.
Is it better to upgrade my existing cooling tower or build a new one?
In most cases, if the civil foundations and basin structure are sound, upgrading is significantly more cost-effective than new construction. We can carry out a structural and performance assessment to give an objective recommendation before a scope is written.
Ask for a cooling tower quotation
Send us the heat load, water flow, inlet and outlet water temperatures and the design wet-bulb temperature, and we will size and quote the tower for your plant.
