Flooded Blowers? Keep Aeration Running with AERZEN Rental

When a plant floods, the blower room is often one of the first areas to go under water. Blowers feed wastewater aeration, combustion and process air, and pneumatic conveying. When they stop, the plant loses its air — and in a biological wastewater system, the bacteria that do the treatment can start to die off within days. That puts discharge compliance and production at risk long before the flood damage itself is repaired.

Don’t restart a flooded blower

Water, silt and moisture left inside a blower and its motor can turn a repairable unit into a burnt-out one the moment it is switched back on. Before any restart:

  • Isolate and lock out the power supply.
  • Have a qualified technician run an insulation-resistance (megger) test on the motor and dry it out.
  • Check the bearings, oil and casing for silt and water.
  • Check the control panels, sensors and cabling.

A motor repair or blower overhaul can take weeks, and longer if parts have to be imported. A biological process cannot go that long without air.

Rent first, repair properly

A rental blower keeps air on the process while the original units are repaired properly, instead of being rushed back into service.

AERZEN Rental has been a collaboration and rental partner of Synergy Services since 2026. It is the equipment rental arm of Aerzener Maschinenfabrik, the German blower and compressor manufacturer, and opened its Rental Asia operation in Thailand — Aerzen (Thailand) Co., Ltd — in 2024. Its rental machines are:

  • Oil-free: 100% oil-free air certified to ISO 8573-1 Class Zero.
  • Plug-and-play: a built-in crash frame and external breaker make them quick to install.
  • Monitored online.
  • Connected to plant control through a 24 VDC external signal terminal.
  • Built for continuous 24/7 operation, with a standby unit where needed.

How we help

  1. Assess — we review the damaged units and the duty each one has to cover: pressure, flow and operating pattern.
  2. Bridge — we arrange a matching AERZEN rental unit to keep air on the process.
  3. Restore — we coordinate the repair of the original units and return the rental once they are back in service.

Plan before the next flood

The best response starts before the water rises. Keep a short list of your critical blowers, each with its pressure, flow and electrical tie-in point. That list is where matching a rental unit begins — and it is far easier to prepare while the plant is dry.

Arrange an AERZEN rental unit

If flood water has reached your blowers, contact Synergy Services to arrange an AERZEN rental unit while the originals are repaired. Sharing the blower list above — or nameplate photos of the damaged units — helps us match the right machine.
